I don't care which is better. Depends on my cravings but yeah, tea is more healthy but both can stain our teeth.

There are health benefits and disadvantages to drinking tea or coffee. Coffee seems to have some protective benefits against diabetes. Herbal teas can have a lot of health benefits, including prevention of certain cancers, such as prostate cancer. As long as you take them (coffee or tea) in moderation you shouldn't have any problems. I like tea and coffee, but the tannic acid in the tea seems to have an unpleasant effect on me, so I try to stick to the herbal kind. I'm drinking coffee right now though. Interesting question!

Tea has a lot of health benefits. For one it has antioxidents that prevent aging. It helps to clean your system out too. Green tea is concidered an excellent companion to weight lose. Many teas have different herbs that do different things as well. There have been a lot of studies done recently on the benefits of tea and it does a lot actually. But hey I do love a good cup of coffee.

I know little about coffee because I don't like the taste.
There are very many different teas so it is meaningless to say sweepingly that tea is good or bad for you.
The teas I drink I think are healthy for me - green tea & jasmine tea (you can buy them here but I have not seen the best quality ones such as longjing) . Some you can make yourself such as ginger & mint.
In China there are many flower teas which have medicinal properties.
If you go to Shanghai there is very famous temple - yu fo si - in which the monks make various herbal teas that are excellent medicines. But I am a little bit scared of that temple because once I prayed to the Buddha there & he punished me.

Tea not only rehydrates as well as water does, but it can also protect against heart disease and some cancers, UK nutritionists found.
Experts believe flavonoids are the key ingredient in tea that promote health.
These polyphenol antioxidants are found in many foods and plants, including tea leaves, and have been shown to help prevent cell damage. Drinking three to four cups of tea a day can cut the chances of having a heart attack.
Other health benefits seen included protection against tooth plaque and potentially tooth decay, plus bone strengthening.
Drinking tea is actually better for you than drinking water. Water is essentially replacing fluid. Tea replaces fluids and contains antioxidants so its got two things going for it.

Tea is considered good for health when compared to coffee. The active ingredient in coffee, caffeine is slightly narcotic. Due to this a person who drinks a cup of coffee feels very active and energized. Pregnant women are advised not to consume coffee. On the other hand the active component of tea, thein has good anti-oxidant properties which has anti-aging property.

Of course. I don't trust anyone one that doesn't drink tes. It just isn't British ;)

Altough I can't move in the morning without having mainlined some serious coffee.

Tea has anti-oxidents and stuff in, but it does also have some caffeine and it contains tannins or something. Green tea is nature's wonder tea though, so good for you.

So, what ever your favoured type of tea - get it drunk!

-Tea also has caffeine. Green tea is supposed to help you cut down fat assimilation. But now I have a question - tea is tea, made from the leaves of the tea plant. They can be unfermented (green tea) or fermented (black tea). So what do you mean by tea? Peppermint, sage or whatever are not teas, they are infusions. The French call them tissanes, and I think of a good translation.

One of your answers says not standard tea, that is not true. Bog standard tea is full of anti-oxidants and far better for you than coffee. I hate Starbucks and all that latte crap and would like to see some more tea drinking places.
