I am wanting to return to the Catholic Church, and must make my confession to the priest, and I don't remember any thing but "bless me father for I have sinned, it has been __ time since my last confession." I appreciate your help.

This is one way how to go to Confession

+ Get yourself ready by making your examination of conscience.

+ After the priest greets you with the Sign of the Cross make the Sign of the Cross and say: “Bless me Father for I have sinned. It has been (say how long) since my last confession. These are my sins…”

+ Tell your sins simply and honestly to the priest. Don’t be embarrassed.

+ When you are done listing your sins please say: “…I am sorry for these sins and all the sins I can’t remember.”

+ Listen to the advice the priest gives you and accept the penance from him. Then make an Act of Contrition for your sins:

My God,
I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong
And failing to do good,
I have sinned against you
whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help,
to do penance,
to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Amen.

+ The priest will then conclude with the words: “Your sins are truly forgiven, Go in Peace”. You respond: “Thanks be to God.”

+ Perform your penance as soon as possible.

With love in Christ.

The requirement of confessing to a priest is not scripturally founded. The Bible tells us to confess our sins to Jesus and accept Him into our heart, and God promises to forgive us. The Catholic Church focuses too much on "works" and procedures rather than a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The personal relationship is why God sent Jesus in the first place.

Pray to the one who can forgive your sins directly. Why go through a Priest? They are sinners also. If they tell you that they aren't they are trying to deceive you.
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Joh 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Joh 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
Joh 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
Joh 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Please understand me. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. Catholicism is misleading and deceptive. Would you not rather experience true peace in your life? Jesus is the Son of God and He died for your transgressions.
Jam 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Religion and denominations will never get you into Heaven. It is your faith in Jesus. I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you and open your eyes so that you may see the truth. Bless you.

You don't have to confess to a priest, that is a man made rule with no biblical standing. Confess your sins to Christ and He will forgive you. the great part is that Christ doesn't care about what words you use, He wants you to come to Him and will take you as you are.

Then tell him your sins. He will help you with the rest, probably give absolution and penance. Don't worry and God speed.

Why not try a Protestant Church, where the only mediator between man and God is Jesus.... May I suggest something evangelical... possibly an Assemblies of God

Where in the bible does it say you need a mediator between you and God?
Be careful.
We will be judged by what we do, and by going around what God says could be disastrous.
