For a guy "I want you" always means to possess you..Sexually
Need you means that, you are a requirement, but he is still not sure...
Now when they say they are mad about you, then they are slowly melting for you...not yet...b/c it takes a loooooong time but they eventually say I love you :) bc unlike women, guys are straightforward they dont twist words or give out clues..if they mean it they say it

from what i gather with this, keeping in mind that I am a guy and i have only heard others say this to others,it maens
1.when he says I need you--this means that he has insecurity in himself and feels that he cannot live without you.
2.when he says I want you--this means that he wants in your pants
3.when he says i am mad about you--this means that he does not have the heart to tell you that he loves you but he wants you to think that he does. If it is true love then he should just come out and not be affraid to say those three special words together-I LOVE YOU

Everyone means different things when they say simple sentences, and without knowing the people it's hard to tell, but here's my thoughts on the definitions of each phrase:
When someone says "I need you." It makes me think that you provide something in their life that they feel they need to have or can't do without.
When someone says "I want you." It makes me think they like you because they choose to like you. When a person wants something it's because they like something about it. (you want a piece of chocolate because you like the taste)
When someone says "I'm mad about you." It makes me think they really like you and are head over heals for you.

"I need you" = getting close to being able to say, "I love you"; feeling as though something would be seriously wrong in his life if you weren't in it; feeling as though the relationship has become very significant.
"I want you" = sexual desire; finding you very attractive.
"I'm mad about you" = infatuated; having a crush on you.
In case it makes any difference to you, I am a guy.

I need you is a relatively sweeter, submissive way of saying I cant keep my organ in control. and I want you is a more aggressive, initiative-taking way of saying the same thing. in the end men just want one thing.

Lets see..........I'm mad about you, that means he loves you.
I need you, he can't live without you, or he wants to have sex.
I want you, he wants you in his life, or he still wants sex. You be the judge.
