My husband is a soldier and you have noooooo idea how they feel or what they go through, especially when they return home form Iraq. Do you realize that majority of them joined for education and a job not expecting to have to harm anyone but if they don't do their job then they are arrested, would you prefer that and terrorist to take over?? How can you be able to walk around freely and feel good about yourself knowing your not doing a DAMN thing to deserve your freedom except birth and you didn't even do that???? IDIOT

You're a complete idiot if you're implying that an Armed Force member who has fought in a war is no better then a criminal who goes around killing people "Just Because." I certainly wouldn't want to be in the shoes of one our Soldiers when they are forced to kill someone, but I know they do what they do to protect our country as well as other countries.
Let's hope for your sake that they never bring the draft back, because then it could be you over there having to kill people and everyone back home may judge you the way you are judging the men and women of the Armed Forces. I have a feeling if you were in their place, you wouldn't feel you deserved to go to jail after you got back home. People like you should be forced to see the conditions that our Military has to deal with everyday in Iraq. You wouldn't last long.

I'm sorry -- the question should be the following: when guys beat/assault/kill their spouses, why are they allowed to freely walk among us, and if the spouse is not killed, why are they allowed to re-victimize their ex over and over again, and the legal system will do NOTHING to protect the Victim/Survivor?

They are allowed to walk FREELY among us because they are not cowards that escape at any cost the opportunity to serve this great nation! Yes, I said "opportunity". I believe every healthy man and woman should do at least a 4 year term of service for their country. Obviously those with illnesses and disabilities can't; that's fine.

Thanks to fine young men and women, like my HUSBAND, you have the freedom to ask questions like this that just display to the public your lack of courage.

You have got to be mentally misguided. They are soldiers, marines, airmen and sailors...that's what we have them for...but they are also Americans, with families at home just like you.

I got a flashback. Your question reminds me of the very first thing my oldest brother (draft dodger) said to me when I came back from Vietnam......"Your a baby killer". After we went into Panama.."Oh, you guys are hero's"......After the first Gulf War...."Oh, I sure wish I served in the military"......After 9/11...why don't you SF guys go out and kill them all!
