Why Men are of more age (senior) than women in married Couples?

Here it means the age difference , why we find a rare combination of women is older than men in couples.

First let me say that there are many answers to this based on culture, region of the world you live in, etc. Having said that let me say that in the Western world, in the old days it was because men had to become established financially before they could ask for a woman's hand in marriage. Most fathers would not allow their daughter to go off with no good derelict with no resources and means of supporting her. Getting established meant a lot of time and maturity and thus the man would be older. Also a man wanted to marry a woman young enough to be able to give him many children since the next generation was their security blanket. There was no social security back then. This idea where men and women can pick their partners, for better or worse is a modern idea. In the modern world I would say that in the newer generations you will find a large mix of ages. In some relationships the woman is older than the man. But due to tradition in many cases a man will be older than the woman. Also I think it has a large part to do with women looking for a father figure. Not in a bad way, but in a way where they can feel safe, secure and protected and comfortable with someone.

Men are less mature than women, an average of two years. That is why it is usually the optimal age difference for a woman to marry a man at least two years older than her.
