I'm a Muslim...and I just don't know how to exactly motivate you in becoming a real Muslim...but trust me what your doing is right and i hope you understand Islam like a real Muslim does..and don't take advice from any Muslim u see 'cause most of them don't even know what they really are these days...CZ temptation has driven them all away
and so its true...I have heard from many people that there will come a generation where many people around the world will become Muslims and they will have more happiness in HEAVEN than we Muslims because you people were born in a nation where you were not even this religion and yet you found it and that makes Allah very happy...
i hope u don't lose what u have...and trust me u r goin through the right path!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!
P.S one thing in Islam u should learn is that u should not love life cz this is a test/examination for whether you'll go to hell or heaven....heaven has many stages just like a simple test we have grades....
you will sacrifice many things for Allah...and u will not ask why if u are not happy or satisfied with what Allah has even you....its only a test..remember

Salaam (Peace be upon you)
Bismilaah
My personal definition of religion is that it is a complete code of conduct established by the Creator for His creation.
Islam is the only religion that is named and chosen for Mankind by God. God even mentions that it is a complete religion. This I take to understand that it encompasses every facet of Life.
For example Islam teaches about life in the womb before you are even born, social conduct with Humanity and life after death. It explains that ultimately you are responsible for your own actions whether they be good or bad. That you are rewarded for the good and are able to make amends for the bad.
Every question you pose to Islam is answered in a way that leaves you feeling calm and tranquil. This I believe is due to the saying that when Truth arrives Falsehood vanishes.
Islam is the Truth, undeniably.
Salaam

From the former Muslim, When I was younger I used to be in the Santeria Religion where I though the this religion is set apart from the others, by seeing manifestation of the spirit world I was closer to God but is was not so, in Buddhism I though the same I though I was en-lighted but the same thing was not so, in Islam I also though that this was best but was not so because none of these religions brought peace to my soul only a false one, but when I met Jesus as my Lord and Savior everything changed. Peace came to my soul and from my been I felt rivers of living waters.

The basic foundation and rules in all religion are same, however Islam tends to put more stress on the life hereafter rather than the life in the world we live. This life is temporary hence Islam lends less support to the life in this world; its much more of a test.

what special about it personal to everyone. If you find that it is teh path you want to follow, go for it.
Whether is it close to god is again down to the individual. It does promote the idea that you do not need an intermediary like a cleric to talk to God, but if that is what makes you feel closer then it is for you.
It is a peacful religion and its great to know that you have not fallen for the media hype surrounding it in the west.
Good luck with whatever you choose.

Are you serious?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There certainly are special things about Islam how about...
Hell, Death, the Grave, the intellectual castration of women, the physical abuse of women including public beatings and stoning to death for alleged infidelity, strapping explosives to the torsos of women and children sending them off to blow themselves up for the greater glory of their blood soaked God and religion!
Beheading, Kidnapping, physical mutilation of the female genitalia on their wedding night, intolerance and last but by no means least world wide genocide for all non-Muslims!
I am sure you'll find a few that feel the same way you do!
Like the Far Left Wing Liberal ACLU Adoring Democrats that feel all Muslim Homicide bombers are just misunderstood!

Islam is somewhat traditional...Yeah when you study their religion, Islam is closer to the Great GOD than any religion would be....But it is also the negative side of this Religion. It doesn't cope as days past and ages change.

Based on the figures published in the 2005 CIA World Factbook ([2]), Islam is the second largest religion in the world. According to the Al Islam, and Samuel Huntington, Islam is growing faster numerically than any of the other major world religions. Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance estimate that it is growing at about 2.9% annually, as opposed to 2.3% per year global population growth. Most of this growth is due to the high population growth in many Islamic countries (six out of the top-ten countries in the world with the highest birth rates are majority Muslim [14]). The birth rates in some Muslim countries are now declining [15].
Commonly cited estimates of the Muslim population today range between 900 million and 1.5 billion people (cf. Adherents.com); estimates of Islam by country based on U.S. State Department figures yield a total of 1.48 billion, while the Muslim delegation at the United Nations quoted 1.2 billion as the global Muslim population in September 2005.[citation needed]
Only 18% of Muslims live in the Arab world; 20% are found in Sub-Saharan Africa, about 30% in the South Asian region of Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, and the world's largest single Muslim community (within the bounds of one nation) is in Indonesia. There are also significant Muslim populations in China, Europe, Central Asia, and Russia.
France has the highest Muslim population of any nation in Western Europe, with up to 6 million Muslims (10% of the population [16]). Albania has the highest proportion of Muslims as part of its population in Europe (70%), although this figure is only an estimate (see Islam in Albania). Countries in Europe with many Muslims include Bosnia and Herzegovina (estimated around 50 % are Bosniaks, Muslims) and Macedonia where over 30 % of the population is Muslim, mostly ethnic Albanians in Macedonia. The country in Europe with most Muslims is Russia. The number of Muslims in North America is variously estimated as anywhere from 1.8 to 7 million.[citation needed]
