Birds eliminate out of one exit: it's called the vent. The waste has three parts, the urine, the feces, and the urates. That white stuff is the urates and it is the concentrated uric acid from the kidneys.
I seem to be answering a lot of questions about bird poop lately. But I am a companion parrot behavior consultant, and I have 3 birds at home. So I'm quite familiar with the stuff.

Sure is surprising some times to read these questions. I sure would never have thought about that one. To answer, after they leave the nest then there is no need for them to be neat about it. They sure are not worried about us as we are not birds. They may want to get even with us for messing up their world. have a good day.

Adult birds have no need to poop in "nice little packages" because they are able to fly from the nest and don't soil their nest with their own droppings. However, their chicks cannot fly from the nest and deposit their droppings elsewhere, so they have no choice, but to poop in their nest. Adult birds want to keep their nest tidy, so nature has made the chicks poop packaged for easy removal.

I think you mean big birds like pigeons or starlings. They have increadible aim if you park a car under a tree or happen to walk under one.

I think the reason is that they have just one hole and the watery stuff can be mixed up with the solid waste.

Kaylee. I used to have a Mynah Bird that did anything but small packages. Had to clean it out daily! Yuk! Perhaps someone should invent a bird nappy! G. xxx

I would imagine it's because the babies have their food chewed up and then reguritated by their mum but as they grow they just eat any old crap. I am sure our poo would be like that if we tried to eat everything we found on the floor!

Yes I wonder! I wonder too why you don't see bird poo on the pavement - it seems they just aim for cars, windows and peoples heads.

Birds do no longer urinate like we do. The waste products that we would bypass in our urine are disposed of of their droppings. The white liquid stuff includes those waste products.
