Guess what DUDE

When Hitler was in charge women were safe to walk anywhere at night unmolested
A brutal Tyrant does a lot to keep the peace
But is it worth it
And as a White Dude - why don't you try walking the streets of Harlem some night
You may find Baghdad safer

Fly in a plane with a few Muslim extremists
You can blame everything in the world on Bush, the Jews or the USA
Or you can take a look and decide that maybe all those things are just an excuse for people that want to hate and kill

Well DUDE what was with the Muslim Cleric in Saudi Arabia that gave Bin Laden religious authority to set off a nuclear bomb in the USA and kill up to 10 million people
does not sound like a religion of peace to me

This is one of those questions that's just there to bait people.

As a foreigner, your chances of getting mugged in Amman, Cairo, Damascus, pre-invasion Baghdad, were better than even - and still are. Poverty is endemic in Arab cities. Vast slums spill over everywhere (the burb of Sadr City, formerly Saddam City to the northeast of Baghdad has 2 million alone) and people get desperate. It's not like you would have been safe as a foreigner, Questioner. Certainly, the security situation is worse now. That doesn't mean the likes of you could walk anywhere you like with impunity, or ordinary people were safe.

If you drove too fast in front of a government building in the Saddam days, you were eligible to be snatched up by the Interior Ministry and "disappeared". That's safety for you, unarmed. But what would the likes of you know? Not much.

Hey DUDE, personally, I would love for you to walk the streets of BAGHDAD unarmed now. Before 9/11, people could go to work in the Twin Towers, too. Try blaming worldwide terrorism or haven't you heard about it.

Do you really think that soldiers like my husband woke up one day and said. Hey, this seems like a great day to go screw with the people in Iraq. No they didn't. President Bush decided that for them. And now they are the ones getting shot at, and it is wives like me that are getting knocks on our doors telling us I'm sorry but your husband didn't make it. And its As@holes like you that our husbands are dieing for. Remember that the next time you open your mouth to bad mouth our solder's. That if wasn't for them you wouldn't have that luxury. You could live in a country like Iraq were you would have been tortured for comments. And Arab people were upset before we went to Iraq. Did you sleep through Sept.11?

Feel free to walk down the streets of Baghdad any time, night or day. Armed or not, your choice.

You never could & never will in your lifetime be safe walking alone down streets of Bagdad. They were not even safe walking down streets in their own country.

What is the upside to your question? It isn't even a good premise to base a question on.
