I think humans will always feel the need for some invisible god they can turn to for help. Then there's the need to find something external to blame when things go wrong. And don't forget the human need to find something to feel superior about when nothing else in life is worth bragging about.
It's like Voltaire says, "If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him."
Individually, we can question or reject the existense of god/s, but collectively, we're needy.

Grow past it?
Basically just asking will humans ever stop believeing in God, maybe they will forget laws as well, crime rate always seems to go higher.
I think humans will always see differences between one another, be it skin colour, faith, IQ, etc. so maybe you should wonder more about when people will see past ignorance and the hate.

Very Good Question ! I think everything evolves with time. As more and more people start analysing and understanding themselves through psychology and neurology, the shortcomings of religion-if it do not reinvent itself-will be exposed. People wil be fully aware of intution, subconscious, gut feeling. Theories will try to explore the defintion of self and soul. So may be our mind will compromise the knowledge of the "unknown" with science rather than with religion.

I think spirituality was an evolution to help us see a wider universe than the material, and then men got hold of it and added their own levels and laws to get in the way. I think ultimately we'll evolve past all the divisions and connct with whatever spiritual energy exists in the universe directly.

Religion is defined as a cause, principle or system of beliefs held to with ador and faith.
Everyone is religious, whether they believe in a god or not. So unless everyone decides they no longer will have any beliefs, causes or princilples then there will always be religious people.
I would not see that as growth, but decay.

Very good question if only there was a higher level above religion to overcome the religious wars we suffer in the name of.
But would we have an even worse world without the thought that judgment day will come to us all someday.
hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I think we will always have unanswered questions about the universe, and we will always need God to fill in the gaps in our understanding. There are always going to be questions that cannot be answered empirically--for example, what exactly started the Big Bang? Also, we will always need something to believe in that teaches us right from wrong, and encourages us to live that way.

Happy is the man conscious of his spiritual need... I think the capacity to worship is ingrained in us as we need to look for something better in life. Some are religious , some worship money , some worship sport.

All gods and mythologies are abandoned or replaced in their turn. Nobody attends the Church of Odin these days.
I live for the day when humanity puts the last of its myths on the shelf and lets the dust collect on them.
