This isn't a cure and it's not proven, but it works for me, wherever possible use white noise.
I spent months of not being able to go to sleep cause of the ringing, I put a fan in my room and the ringing stopped. Bliss!! x

Have similar problem. Not tried an aid yet but was advised NOT to try it for as long as possible as the affects wear off. She may need to see a chiropractor who might relieve some tension from the neck-spinal region from where the problem might be emanating from. She has my sympathy!

Have your mom have her hearing aid frequency readjusted sometimes that makes a difference.

I suffer from it in my both ears. I have leaned not to think about.
