Most people do not have the slightest idea what love is.

Not necessarily, no. It is the scripture found at 1 John 4:8 which says that God is love. It is located in the Christian Greek Scriptures (that part of the Bible commonly referred to as the New Testament). It was written in Greek. The Greek word here rendered love is agape. It means love based on righteous principles. But there are different Greek words for different types of love: romantic love (eros), love between friends (philia), and love for family (storgé). So even if one rejected the scripture which teaches that God is love, these other types of love would still exist and therefore, that person does not necessarily deny love.

It would HAVE to mean that Christians have to accept that non-Christians know and feel God (love) - since most people do, even if they do not believe in a deity. It would also mean that non-christians would have to accept that they believe in God (love) but not necessarily someone to worship. If God is love, or love is God, then all feeling creatures believe, they just do not believe in the propaganda and distortion of the religious traditions and behaviors.

First of all you are implying that christians have the absolute truth, making the premise of (God = Love) true always. You can't say that because as a christian you have to respect others beliefs...

Then again maybe you are refering to the logical sequence:

God (implies ->) Love

In that case, a logical conclusion would be:

(No Love) implies -> (No God)

Not the other way around, since some other things might also imply Love.

I don't believe god is love. The bible is full of passages where god slaughtered whole nations of people so the isralites could live there without going back to idolatry
Then of course the Inquisition and the crusades. To me this does not even imply love.

So what you're saying is that the aztecs and mayans, millions upon millions of people, were incapable of love for thousands of years because they didn't know about God? But then when Cortez and the europeans came and slaughtered them all in the name of God, then they knew what love was...

I can't believe some of these questions....

Umm, no...

If they deny the existence of God then they have a different definition of love.

Denying the existence of God is denying the existence of any example of love, so how can one define love if there is no God?

Hmmmm....
