Should I convert my AVI files to MPEG2 or the ".VOB" ?

Generally, DVD players show only MPEG2 files. So if you want your videos to be compatible with a wide range of DVD players, you will have to convert to MPEG2 files.

I'm not sure what a VOB file is... possibly a DVD menu format.

you must burn .VOB files to a DVD.
dvd players only plays .VOB files, but with Ulead Movie Factory, or Nero Vision u can convert every files into .VOB format.
i rather MPEG2 for convert to .VOB files which gives better quality.
