it is the participants that thumb you up or down... being a US answer site you can guess why so many thumbs down. don't blame them though. they are missinformed. it is by understanding each other that we will overcome this hatred that is being planted on each side.

The thumbs up and thumbs down is not done by moderators, it is done by people.
Anybody with a level two or above can mark an answer as thumbs up or thumbs down and they need no reason.
Since there are ignorant people out there, there are bound to be ignorant responses to people's opinions.
Peace.

Everybody can rate each answer with a thumbs up or thumbs down, it has nothing to do with the site moderator. If you start giving thums up to the positive muslim answers, you will solve the problem!

Being open-minded about something arguable comprises finding out on a position and then respecting all different critiques without unavoidably agreeing with them. Open-minded "liberal" wondering comprises attempting to go back to a compromise which will fulfill as a lot of human beings as plausible, rather than sticking to one's own beliefs and arguing them to the inability of life, even with what others say or imagine.

Some people cannot respect Islam because it is of the "scary unknown". I would suggest studying the Quaran to gain at least an appreciation and not be so afraid of their own insecurity of their own faith to read about another.
