there is a excellent program avalible called "driver magician" which will back up all the drivers off your p.c and put them in a folder ,which can then be put on a cd,or a pen drive ,the good thing about this is after a windows xp re-install you can leave this disc or usb device in a drive and update every driver without having to change a single disk, saves loads of time,.tip...use a cd-rw disc and then you can update the magician when you add a new driver
you can try this program at http://www.drivermagician.com/download.htm,and to buy the program it is $29
good luck

Well you could install an external hard drive and backup the first one, this is the safest way and the chances of two drives going wrong at the same time is rare. If you are just having one driver giving you problems then if you are running Windows XP you could just do a restore. Good Luck :O)

Go to the website of the manufacturer of the laptop and look up your model in the download section. You should find all the drivers available there for free. If you want to have your own copy of them, download them into a directory on you computer and then backup that directory on CD.

Easier than try to find and back them up from all over the place on your hard drive.

All of the drivers you will need are on the OEM cd that came with you laptop.
