I got married last year in a Spiritualist church with the Registrar present (civil ceremony) and I walked up the aisle to Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, the piece where the Prince meets Odette. It was very moving and dramatic. Congrats. on your forthcoming wedding - I hope you will have a very happy day as I did!

Hi Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding! My fiance and I are having a civil ceremony for our wedding, and I am having the song Amazed by Lonestar to walk in to. U could have the first song u ever danced to or if you had a song together u could use that. We are having our song as our first dance. Its all down to personal preference but u can have absolutely anything u want as long as its not religious. Ask your wedding co-ordinator how long the piece of music or song can be, also in some places you have to supply music for when ur guests are waiting, when u sign the register and when you and ur new hubby walk out. Sorry I've rambled on hope this helps =O)

I know of a couple who chose the opening theme tune for Star Wars, followed by the theme for the Japanese anime flick Akira.
Everyone has their own choices. What music really calls out to you when you think of something that can rouse your blood?
Even if you don't think it's appropriate, it doesn't matter. It's a civil ceremony - you choose. Even if the bride enters the hall to the strains of Serge Gainsborough's "Je T'Aime De Non Plus" or "La Marseillaise", this is still your day; your ceremony.
That means that ultimately, any recommendations any of us here might make will likely be pointless.

Spring, from the Four Seasons Concerto, by Vivaldi. It has a quicker tempo than a traditional march, but the spirit is happy, upbeat, one of renewal and rebirth and just naturally brings a smile to the listener's face.

I walked down the aisle to 'The theme from Harry's Game' by Enya. Everyone got emotional!! My friend used it at her wedding a few years later and I got shivers and cried. If your not sure how it goes, go to a record shop and ask them to play it for you, shut your eyes and imagine yourself walking down the aisle. I promise you'll get the shivers when you hear it. I got married in a Cathedral and my friend got married in a Civil office and it was perfect on both occasions. Just listen and and see! Good Luck x
