difference between jewish culture and religion?

One of my friends parents was Jewish and the other was Christian, so he grew up as half and half. (Now he's an athiest, but thats not the point) Learning about his childhood made me wonder: How is that he never had to choose one religion? You can't believe in both at the same time, yet many people claim that their religion is both Jewish and Christian. I understand that you can still celebrate the culture and history of the Jewish people while also celebrating the traditions of whatever religion your following, but I want to know is:
Why, once someone is old enough to determine their own religion and it's not up to their parents anymore, they still say that their RELIGION is both Jewish and Christian instead of saying that their religion is whatever one they've chosen to follow and believe in and say that their Family history and culture is Jewish? Are the people who say that they believe in both just mistaken about how to phrase it, or am I missing something?

Sometimes. in cases like this it's not a question of acceptance but a problem of rejection.
"I do not want to give up this so I will accept both"

Being Jewish is like being American Indian - you're born that way. Israel is a nation and a race. The Jewish religion developed out of that culture.

Jews can become Christians just like anyone else can. That doesn't change their race or nationality.

Jews are not a race. Jews are a people that follow Judaism. So you have European Jews, Indian Jews, Chinese Jews, Yemenite Jews, Ethiopian Jews etc...

You cannot be both Christian and Jewish. The religions differ greatly and are not compatible.

So either you are a Jew or a Christian not both. As for your race that is what it is.

In the old testament(origin of Jewish Culture) there are physical works mentioned with prophecies to be fulfilled

but the new testament works are spiritual works fulfilled and almost all the old testament prophecies fulfilled.

So I can go on to explain the seed of Abraham, the sanctuary, the sacrifices, many prophecies, the law were fulfilled in one & only Christ Jesus.
But the following will explain what is circumcision, today, spiritually means:

If it makey you angry & you get angry , you know satan just than pointed a finger at Christ-look at that girl or look at that boy they do not love you.

Keep his commandments & remember the sacrifice of Christ.

Because the Christians has shed their blood the most in the world.

And only John who is alive imprisoned at Patmos.
