Psychologists say that people will die for what they believe in unless they've been given proof that the belief is false. We won't die for something that we know is false. We especially wouldn't go through torture for something that we made up.

Many argue that Jesus was never resurrected, and that His followers only made up the story to start a church (?). Not that the argument isn't flawed in other ways, but I offer up the following:

With this in mind, think about the apostles of Jesus that were willing to die in horrible torturous ways defending their rabbi that they saw resurrected. Would you let someone skin you alive knowing that you'd made something up? Would you let them burn your or crucify you upside down? Would you sit in prison after prison simply because you talked about this event? I don't believe anyone would.

You bring up VERY valid points!
I was reading earlier in the week an article about the crucification of Jesus explained medically... Amazingly, horrifically gruesome.. but VERY interesting... The medical science was not even in it's infantcy back then, yet they described what happened and it matches todays scientific knowledge..

It amazes me that people refuse to believe the bible... Most though that are adamatly against it I think have never really read it.

At best, this could be considered strong evidence the apostles believed in Jesus ... it doesn't prove they did ... and it definitely doesn't prove anything regarding the resurrection.

Your analysis also errs in not considering the possibility of error or deception in the recounting the apostles' history. Remember, the printing press wouldn't be invented in Europe for another thousand years ... until then all information would be recorded by hand or through oral tradition ... both methods leave much to be desired in the way of historical accuracy.

GREAT POINT! But sadly some people will knowingly refuse Jesus. But even sadder when their time comes for judgement, "He will have to say I never knew you." God will not be mocked and the mighty will fall by their own folly, for refusing to take a gift that was free for the taking. Lord God have mercy on this Ungodly generation.

this is what makes more sense:
jesus didnt die but the dispels thought he did since none of his disciples were around when he was crucified but then he comes back in disguise (which explains why at first they didnt recognized his at first sight) and told them he wasnt dead this also explain why they were scared at first when they saw jesus alive in his body because the gospels clearly state they were masters of "casting out evil spirits" so a spirit shouldnt have scared them

after they saw that jesus wasnt dead they had even more energy to go around and preach to people and say "see you thought jesus is dead but he is ALIVE!" and they preached it until the last breath

I'd only die for refusing to change my religion. No matter the cost!
