actually next day is my viva ..
today teacher asked 4rom my class mate that how u differentiate the colours of brass , al, cu, and steel . so he wana know the colours of these if some one of u help me i ll b thank full to him\her. and i think all the mentioned hav diff colours i know its depends on purification but in daily life ..the most used colour of these??

The most common alloys of brass are yellow metals
Aluminum alloys are generally a light gray/silver.
Steel alloys are generally a dark gray/silver alloy
Copper is generally more of an orange color.

Keep in mind that brass is a copper alloy. Brasses can range from red brasses to pale yellow.
Aluminum alloys generally vary in color with surface treatments and surface oxidization. Anodized aluminum fittings can be tinted a variety of colors, nearly the spectrum of the rainbow.
Steel alloys can also be surfaced treated resulting in colors from a blue to black.
Copper an all of its alloys range from red (brasses) to orange to yellow, to gray to silver appearance.

hmmm - well i reckon brass is brass, aluminium is silver, same as steel, and copper is copper. plus, my little brother just told me that the Romans didn't have seperate words for colour - any colour was refferred to with the same word as they used for brass... which causes a difficulty with some translation. anyway...

brass has many kinds . its color deponds on chemical composition. pure aluminum is gray . steel is dark gray . copper is red.
