If I force others to do what I think is right, do I not also have the responsibility to help out those who's lives are changed because of my " belief " that I am right?
Can I force a change in others moral ideas and not be responsible for them when my forced oppinion is placed on them?
Where is the responsibility?

There are fewer and fewer public places where people are allowed to smoke. Yes, there are fanatics on the subject. For example, right now my company allows smoking outside. But since the ventilation outside isn't good enough (?) they are considering banning it from the property and doing nicotine tests on the employees along with our random drug tests. So if a person smokes or lives with a smoker they can lose their job. Incredible isn't it? The best part of it though is that at work we have to breathe the exhaust from forklifts, powdered acrylic (a known carcinogen) and poly-vinyl chloride fumes (another known carcinogen). There's no ventilation and no respirators (these are recommended) and if anyone complains about it they get fired for an "unrelated reason".

I think that it makes some people feel superior when they take these things to extremes. Perhaps since they can't control their own lives properly they feel the need to dictate how others live their private lives.

I smoke but don't drive. I live in Australia, where theres decent, if not better Mass transit services that a lot of people are using. With petrol prices the way they are, its nuts to drive as is.

Now, you can't force a change, but what you can do is try to do smart things, like ask hypothetical queries that make people stop and think. Its a way of getting your point across while making thm think.

So Kudos, my hat is taken off to you by the way you asked the question.

As for responsibility, in the end, its each individuals to listen or not.

I don't' hate smokers... just the smoke. I hope that some day smoking will be banned in all public places including parks. I also hope that polluting emissions from petroleum burning machines will be banned as well. There are many alternatives. The oil companies will probably have you killed if you design an efficient, non polluting hydrogen engine.

I don't know what the hell you're talking about... are you comparing smokers who pollute the air to people who drive and pollute the air? People HAVE to drive. People certainly DON'T have to smoke. One's a necessity while the other's just s stupid choice people make. And the smokers drive cars that pollute the air, too.
