I hear people tell others to get over someone that doesnt like them. They say you will find someone who likes you for who you are. Are people just passing false hope? You people really believe what you say?

Of course the people who say that believe it....but that's not really the point. The point is whether you, the person who is hearing this because you are hurting inside, can believe it for yourself.
Think about it - I know it feels like you are the ONLY one who feels the pain, and it feels like no one has ever felt this kind of pain before. And it feels like the hurt will not go away. But, with SO MANY people in the world, what are the odds ? What are the odds you are the ONLY one ?
Preeeeettttyyyyyy slim, if I do say so myself.
The fact is you can't make somebody like/love you. We all feel that since WE feel so much love and caring for another (or even if we just like them), then surely the feeling must be reciprocated for how could we feel this way if there is nothing there for us ? It boggles the mind. And so we reject the idea that it's the way it is. However, finally it sinks in that they just aren't that "in" to us and never will be. And the hurt then begins anew.
This is when it is said to "just get over it." (Of course the "just" is pretty much a misnomer because it isn't a particularly easy thing to do. It's not an "oh-I-just-won't-eat-that-donut" kind of thing. It's hard.) But the message is that you absolutely MUST move on - move forward. Because if you stand still, then you will miss all those people and relationships ahead of you - and that is where there WILL be somebody who likes you for who and what you are. Don't waste time back there looking for and at someone who does not - the only way to "get over it" is to get on with it.

honey.. i say it coz i BELIEVE what i say.... when people r in bad relationships, they think that its the end of the world and they'll never move on...
but life DOES move on.. most people on here who say it have already been through it, have found someone right and are now happy
life's a learning experience, you don't know what's good until you've learnt whats bad.. so a guy who hurts you is BAD for u.. not worth wastin ur time.. and you will understand this once u leave him and find the right guys!

Really what else can you do??? If someone doesnt like you, are you suppose to sit there and hope they change their mind???
