You need not stay in Patpong, along Silom Rd there are many hotels and is a short walk to Patpong. Try asiarooms,. The train service makes it convenient to visit Patpong too.

some hotels are around. The Pavilion Place should be ok place. are u goin to stay there? u should check at www.excelloz.com for info and rates then. hope it helps.
