Christians are the only ones who believe it because it means that Jesus is the son of God. This is one of the main difference between Jews, Muslims and Christians so of course none of the other religions believe it and of course its necessary to being a Christian.

THE TRINITY CONCEPT IS DECEPTION AND GOD AND JESUS IS ONE ONLY IN THE WAY THEY THINK, THE PLAN FOR MANKIND. IT IS GOD THE FATHER AND JESUS THE SON. GOD IS A FAMILY AND IS REPRODUCING HISSELF WITH THOSE WHO KEEP HIS LAWS.
It may first be noted that the words “in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (KJ) found in older translations at 1 John 5:7 are actually spurious additions to the original text. A footnote in The Jerusalem Bible, a Catholic translation, says that these words are “not in any of the early Greek MSS [manuscripts], or any of the early translations, or in the best MSS of the Vulg[ate] itself.” A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament, by Bruce Metzger (1975, pp. 716-718), traces in detail the history of the spurious passage. It states that the passage is first found in a treatise entitled Liber Apologeticus, of the fourth century, and that it appears in Old Latin and Vulgate manuscripts of the Scriptures, beginning in the sixth century. Modern translations as a whole, both Catholic and Protestant, do not include them in the main body of the text, because of recognizing their spurious nature.—RS, NE, NAB.
Other evidence of its impersonal nature. Further evidence against the idea of personality as regards the holy spirit is the way it is used in association with other impersonal things, such as water and fire (Mt 3:11; Mr 1:8); and Christians are spoken of as being baptized “in holy spirit.” (Ac 1:5; 11:16) Persons are urged to become “filled with spirit” instead of with wine. (Eph 5:18) So, too, persons are spoken of as being ‘filled’ with it along with such qualities as wisdom and faith (Ac 6:3, 5; 11:24) or joy (Ac 13:52); and holy spirit is inserted, or sandwiched in, with a number of such qualities at 2 Corinthians 6:6. It is most unlikely that such expressions would be made if the holy spirit were a divine person. As to the spirit’s ‘bearing witness’ (Ac 5:32; 20:23), it may be noted that the same thing is said of the water and the blood at 1 John 5:6-8. While some texts refer to the spirit as ‘witnessing,’ ‘speaking,’ or ‘saying’ things, other texts make clear that it spoke through persons, having no personal voice of its own. (Compare Heb 3:7; 10:15-17; Ps 95:7; Jer 31:33, 34; Ac 19:2-6; 21:4; 28:25.)

The trinity is a concept that came about due to the heavy influence of greek and roman methology on the early church. Christian scholars say that the idea of the trinity cannot be traced to the words of Jesus.
All the way through the Bible God is referred to as One. The Old Testament Prophets referred to God as one. No where is the trinity mentioned. You are correct to say that Christianity is heavily influenced by paganism (certain festivals etc.) It was the drive of people like Paul who wanted to spread the religion that lead to this influence.
In the bible Paul states that the jewish law should be abandoned in order to spread the religion to the Pagans. This is despite Jesus stating that not a 'jot' should be removed from the law.
It is obvious to any sincere person that the God of the Old Testament does not become a man and get flogged by his creation.

Definately!
Religions all come from East and have common routes, that's why you will meet the Spirit-bird (pigeon, hawk, dove) in many of them, under different capacities; however there are some points that make them differenciate from each other and in Christianity the Spirit-bird has become the Holy Spirit. The bird has been chosen to represent the Spirit in all religions because it is closer to God, flying up in the sky.
Compare these religions to the Native American religions and you will suprised to see how many elements there are in common...

By creating Idea about Trinity, Christians have direct explanation why do the call Jesus Son of God ( while he is not)..
In Bible even it is not mentioned anything about Trinity. As well as Jesus had never claimed that he is Son of God. He always stressed that he is a MAN like others and God is his Father like for others...........
I think it is very convenient for Church to create such docrtina to make millions of people to believe and to be manipulated..

Well in Genesis, the Bible says that the Spirit of the Lord moved upon the earth/ waters. Then it speaks in plural of making man in "our image".
Jesus talked about the Holy Spirit, and God as separate entities.
He also told the disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit.
So, no it not something we have made up.

It's a difficult concept to understand and believe. I don't know about the making up bit. Its very possible that it has other origins and Christianity has taken many things from other religions.

The mystery of the Most Blessed Trinity is the center of the christian religion. Without it and the taking of flesh from the Virgin Mary, by God. Noone can call himself christian.

This is one of the things that confuses me most about christianity. Especially the holy spirit. Nobaody really knows what it is. And how can Jesus and god be the same?

the trinity was just actually to remind us of the hardships of the early christians.....
in the old testament, the father means god himself... not necessarily meaning that god is male though.... the son is for the new testament, jesus christ..... and the holy spirit is for the religious experiences and divine exp. early christians experienced..... at least thats what i remember from my theology class
