Depending on the size of your work space.....I used to go around the building which did have over 3000 people working there and network!

I would start at the beginning of the corridor and then I'd see loads of people I knew.

I find that if you do not smoke you are at a total disadvantage - you do not get time off and you do not hear the gossip first hand.

My sister used to read magazines between files.

I managed to look busy for two months but one of the bosses caught me surfing the internet.....!

People who look busy are the ones who are not.

First, quit your job so that others who rely on your work and are really interested in what they do won't be cheated because of your lack of commitment to your job. Second, visit a spiritual counselor or professional psychologist and figure out why you have so little regard for life. Third, make sure that you stand in all lines that are clearly marked "Get a life!"

Grab an important looking item (document, laptop, toolbox depending on your type of work) wander round and 'consult' your colleagues about anything that takes your fancy. You have to be really cool with this .. brag your way out of any difficult situations. You can waste hours having fun with people you've never spoken to before!!

When i run out of work i usually;

tidy my desk,

do some OLD filing thats been sat in my tray for weeks,

re-lable folders,

do some throwing away or shredding,

update my supplier/customer database with telephone numbers, fax numbers, email addresses, website addresses, etc

while you're on the web looking for info you can sneak in a bit of your own web browsing,

If you are at work don't you have to have something to show, like what you produced at the end of your shift? So, wouldn't actually doing the work make the time pass faster?

if u wana pretend as of ur working than very simple just keep on typing sumthing in ur word/excel sheets or read sum sites any sites but very seriously,so that no 1 doubts u.even i do d same .sumtimes i c porn sites very seriously 2 pretend .....ooooops
