My husband choked on a jellybean on Mardi Gras Day in New Orleans; we were in the car and on our way home and of course, he had been drinking. I had to stop on the bridge, and give him the Heimlich maneuver in the car. He had passed out from inhaling the candy. I got out and ran to the other side to open the passenger door and drag him out when he suddenly spit out the candy and caught his breath. The next day he didn't remember a thing! I was so p*issed off and he didn't know why! Never forget that Day! He still doesn't remember what happened! Wasn't exactly CPR, but it was close!

Well, it wasn't my spouse, but my dad had a massive coronary heart attack at home May 31, 2005. I did CPR on him until the ambulance got here, then they took over. No, it didn't help... but not because knowing CPR doesn't help, basically it was because he was gone before he hit the floor. I wish everyone knew CPR, you don't know when you could save someones life.
I'm a police and fire rescue dispatcher, so we don't give any medical advise, but we do work in close connections with medical rescue dispatchers. There are quite a few times that knowing CPR can save someone, and in most cities, medical rescue dispatch is able to instruct on how to do it.

As a EMT doing app 400 calls per year I can atest that CPR may save a life. Many factors are involved.CPR has to start as soon as possable.I highly encourage everyone to be CPR trained. And believe me when I tell you it's a wounderfull feeling/sight to see a victom of a MI (heart attack) NO PULSE..NOT BTEATHING..to start breathing and regain a pulse because started CPR.This is called A CODE SAVE

No. But I know CPR but I don't know what I would do. I dont know what i would do if i did do CPR and she died or if I did nothing to help her. Hopefully I never have to make the decision

No, but I hope I don't ever have to experience a situation like that.

No, but is there anyone out there who wouldn't do it, even if they knew how?
