My 2 almost 3 year old girl is so scared of her bedroom!! I can't figure it out. She has the cutest little white bed painted with purple and pink flowers, a little purple and pink kitchen set, a little white table with purple and pink flowers on it, a soft fuzzy white rug, a soft fuzzy yellow rug, light yellow sheer drapes, a full-lenght mirror that she just loves, white shelves with all her books on it and a little lamp, fake purple flowers, her changing table that's really a desk painted white, and white walls with pretty little things hung on them. Her closet doors are dark brown. We can't paint this place, but are buying a place of our own and I need some good suggestions please!! (she WON'T sleep in there and always wakes up crying at night saying it's scary).

She won't sleep with us. Prefers to be alone. Will only sleep in the living room on couches or on the floor.

i'd guess it has nothing to do with the room
she probably doesn't like being alone
it's a phase, and you'll either
1) have to grit your teeth and see it through, or
2) make life difficult for yourself/ves and let her sleep in your room

go for 1, i shed tears with my first kid, getting him to go to sleep in his own bedroom alone, but it was worth it in the end

It must be the monster under the bed. Is she ok sleeping alone elsewhere? You might want to (in daytime) take her around and ask her about each piece of furniture, window, etc. and ask if it is scary or bad. Then if nothing is scary, ask again after after dinner but not when you're trying to get her into bed. There might be a shadow or a strange noise that you don't even notice.

My little cousin had that same problem. And everything was fixed by a simple safety pin.

His mom put a safety pin on his curtains next to his bed to keep them closed all the way and he's been fine ever since. It was really weird. Over the next couple weeks he slept in his room with no problems, and his mom asked him why he was ok in the room now. He said "It's because of the safety pin."

Go figure. I guess he had a little more peace of mind with it there.

sweetheart it doesn't matter what room you place her .. or how bright and beautiful it is
unfortunately at that age they are becoming aware , and do not like being in their own
the only way to beat this is to comfort her for a few moments until she falls asleep again
i have been through this with my 3 children ... and we have had several houses ( so it wasn't the room )
at 3 they are feeling insecure without being in same room as mum .. and their imagination is starting to take over
what i did with my middle one ( who was the worst ) .. i bought a little angel and placed it under her pillow and told her the angel would protect her and bring her nice dreams
it did work but its trial and error im afraid , to find what will work for your little one
don't worry though , she will grow out of it ... but be prepared for many broken nights sleep :o(

Your child may be feeling the presence of an unfriendly spirit. You will need to call for a minister to come and remove it or find someone to make rebuking prayers on behalf of you and your family.

Find someone to bless your house. Your house or the land it sits on may have wondering spirits. perhaps someone died there. Seek authentic spiritual help.

I wish you well.
