"There are health reasons for not engaging in sex too soon. "The biggest risk of postpartum sex, particularly too soon, is infection," according to Robin Weiss, the pregnancy guide at About.com. Bleeding is normal for up to six weeks. First-time intercourse can increase bleeding, and it's not a reason for alarm. If bleeding persists beyond six weeks, though, it would be best to consult a health care professional.
Intercourse after childbirth can be quite painful. If the woman has had an episiotomy or laceration, there may be discomfort for weeks or even months after the stitches have healed. "

Of course it's okay. Poor you, not having had sex during your pregnancy must have been quite a thiong to endure. Women usually want even more affection, and sometimes sex than during normal times. I hope it wasn't because your husband was disgusted of you. This happens to some men.
If you want to have sex now, go ahead...
Congratulations on the baby!

No. No. and No. You know most younger woman don't see the long term effects of having intercourse too early after giving birth. It could cause several problems or even cancer wait at least the six weeks.

Give your body some time to heal. I was always told to wait until AFTER my six week check-up. I mean, you want to know that every thing is healed up properly before you go and do anything like that.

As long as your comfortable with it and it isn't too painful, go for it. Make sure you use protection as you're at a high risk of getting pregnant again.
That's what my doc told me anyway. I assume it's true for everyone.
