Exodus 11, verses 9&10-- The LORD had said to Moses, "Pharaoh will refuse to listen to you -- so that my wonders may be multiplied in Egypt." Moses and Aaron performed all these wonders before Pharaoh, but the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let the Israelites go out of his country.

I like this one, because God FORCES Pharaoh deny Moses, just so God can show off his awesome power to send plagues and kill every firstborn Egyptian.., which means God intended to cause this suffering. Nice guy, Pharaoh never even had a choice. This is the same timeless God that people pray to today.

Why is this my favorite? Because this is the one I read that opened my eyes to the reality that the Bible is filled with intolerance and atrocities. Not to say that Christians are bad, but the Bible certainly is, by modern standards.

1 Corinthians Chapter 13

1 If I speak in human and angelic tongues 2 but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.
2
And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
3
If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4
3 Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,
5
it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
6
it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
7
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8
4 Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing.
9
For we know partially and we prophesy partially,
10
but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.
11
When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things.
12
At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known.
13
5 So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Now you know why i love this verse...

I like this verse b'coz its based on truth.

(HOLY BIBLE) Deuteronomy 18:18.

1. Muhummed is mentioned by name in the Song of Solomon 5:16. The Hebrew word used there is Muhammuddim. The end letters IM is plural of respect majesty and grandeur. Minus "im" the name would be Muhamud translated as "altogether lovely" in the Authorised Version of the Bible or 'The Praised One' 'the one worthy of Praise' i.e. MUHUMMED! (P.B.U.H)

1 Samuel 16:7. I love this verse because it reminds us that God does not look at the things that man sees. God knows and looks at our heart. This is comforting because i know that God knows my heart (in ministry and in life sometimes you make decisions that are not always understood or agreed upon by everyone- and there are times too when you realize that you didn't always make the best choice). Thankfully God's grace is sufficient and you are also reminded that He looks at your heart. i also love that verse- cuz i'm a short Asian man and i thought i so cool that King David was chosen because he was the man after God's own heart!

Blessings,

Nickster

I don't know where in the bible these are, but the ones that stick in my mind are

1-IN JUDGMENT, THOSE WHO HAVE SHOWN NO MERCY SHALL THEMSELVES RECEIVE NO MERCY

2-DO NOT WORRY, WHAT IS DONE IN THE DARK SHALL BE SHOWN IN THE LIGHT

I'm not sure how they are worded in the actual bible verses, but that's the jist I think.

Song of Solomon Ch7:V1-9, because it's so beautiful and sensual...

"How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.

Thy navel is like a round goblet, which wanteth not liquor: thy belly is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies.

Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins.

Thy neck is as a tower of ivory; thine eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bath-rabbim: thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus.

Thine head upon thee is like Carmel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in the galleries.

How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights!

This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes.

I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof: now also thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples;

And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak."

Revelation 16:4
"And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. "

I'm looking forward to that.
