Like everyone said, the U.S. system is something they call "GSM" and Korea uses the "CDMA" system. I recently bought a phone, and you can check if your phone has "CDMA" on this website, go to your phone model, check out the info and go to where it says "mode". I couldn't find the Nokia N70 you were talking about though:

If your phone doesn't have the CDMA system, you could upgrade your phone to one that has it. The Samsung A990 has the CDMA system:

It should work in Korea and talk to your carrier about International Phone Rates.
If that doesn't work, renting a cell phone in Korea should be relatively simple as well.
Hope that helps~!

Korea operates on CDMA network so unless your N70 can work on that network too, if not, go rent one phone there.

the digicam of NOKIA is from kodak, n of SONY is clearly "SONY". they r the two solid, yet being a NOKIA technician, i sugggest that in case you establish to purchase a N70, ascertain you get it upgraded to the latest application version, right here in kuwait that's V 5.0616.2. you may verify this by typing *#0000# on the telephone. i'm not sure approximately SONY. all the superb.
