i'm not a student nor a teacher. does it matter? it's cheap, so i will buy it. does the software ask
questions to verify if i'm a student or teacher? what can you tell me about it?

Most retailers ask for a student card or Id showing you are a teacher. Then again, a lot of retailers just want to make a sale. Make sure the version you get has all you need, some dont have "Publisher"

There is no difference between academic software and commerical software anymore. As far as being a student....well if you have a printer you have a student ID if you know what I mean.

One thing to remember is that Academic versions frequently don't have upgrade rights or have all the support options that the full priced products do.
