I'm an athiest, but it bugs me when christians act like their religion is so much better than everybody else's. It really bugs me when ignorant rednecks say things about hating Islam, even though they know nothing about it. Hate terrorists, not muslims! Especially because Islam and Christianity are a lot alike. It's all just fairy tales anyway.

I agree many of my faith do think we are btter. Christians today seem to have forgotten the most important in Christianity, Christ.

The faithful is not very faithful these days. We are not always living the ways of God, yet ironically we have the nerve to criticize atheist.

We are to love all people, yet many of we white Christians love to feel superior to the non-white or Jewish groups.

We have a lot of reparing to do in the faith. I hope we do so.

When our leaders ask for donations suggesting God will make them rich, even though they are getting rich.
When a lot of faithful have sexual problems both Catholics and Protestants.
When faihful drive new bmw's and forget the starving person on the streets.

We Christians have problems. We are not better. We are sick and need help.

God bless you!

Why do atheists think their beliefs are better than every other belief? I'm a Christian, but it bugs me when Atheist think they are so much wiser than us and calls everybody Else's beliefs fairy tales.

I agree, hate terrorists, not Muslims. There are a few similarities between Islam and Christianity.

Do you not believe you are right? That there is no God? That everyone should give up religion? Thus you think your way is better. But if anyone else doesn't agree with you they become ignorant rednecks. Everyone thinks their way is better. It is whether you shove it others faces, like you have done Mr. Fairy Tales.

To show someone that you are better than other one, the other one must be very bad. So Muslims are god from their point of view, Christians are bad in this story. Very much the same in opposite manner. Any way, Christians poses lands and states rich in water, food and ore, Muslims have oil, but not for too long. So, Christians will fall down with out oil, Muslims will starve without food and water….

Jerks on both sides… Money makes the world go around!

I'm going to ignore your comments and just give an honest answer to your question, fair enough? I am a Christian, a Catholic, and while I believe fully in my faith, I DO NOT believe that being Catholic makes me better than anyone else, regardless of race, color, creed or religion, or lack of religion. Being Catholic is what works for ME, it does not suit others and I respect everyone on that, even those who choose not to believe in God at all. My middle son and youngest brother are both Atheists, it does not make me love them less and I NEVER push what I believe upon others.

Dear funaholic,

i don't believe that those who really understand the Bible and what Christianity teaches are saying that Christianity is "better" than any other religion.

All religions are esentially teaching how man can relate to God. And Christianity clearly teaches that there is one way to God and that is through Jesus Christ. That can appear to others as saying that they think they are better or are "closed-minded" but the truth is that's what the Bible teaches.

The Bible does also teach believers that they are to speak the truth in love- and i think this is where many believers fall short. You tell the gospel to someone because you love them. You should be able to disagree, but the key is communicating it with love.

My brother who is agnostic when i told him the gospel he told me it was silly he told me i could go "f" myself. But i explained it very plainly that if i believed that he would go to hell unless he knew Jesus- it would be unloving for me not to tell him. i think although he didn't agree with the gospel- he understood that i shared it with him out of love- and we have been able to have many great discussions about God and religion since that time.

Christianity teaches that there is only one way to God and that is not ever going to change. Can people communicate that in a way that reflects Christ's love better- Yes! Throughout the Bible Jesus hung out with those with differing opinions and agendas,, and was able to tell them the truth without insulting them or making them feel that He was more important than them.

Hope that helps,

Nickster

This is a common problem. In fact, many Christian sects proclaim that THEIRS is the only one that has the WHOLE TRUTH. They might be magnanimous by saying that other religions have a piece of THE WHOLE TRUTH, but THEIRS in the only one that has THE WHOLE TRUTH.

When, of course, the truth is that no one has the universe in the palms of their hands.

wow.. some prettty good answers..i dont like the word "better"-because i respect others beliefs ...even yours, being an atheist--believe as you will... my faith says it will all get straightened out in the end... but i would say that the christian religion is different...than other religions.. because it allows for the forgiveness of our shortcomings --(sins if you will) ..and our eventual reconciliation with our creator..not through rituals or reincarnation or killing off every other belief ....whatever.. but by grace ... a gift... that only has to be accepted...

The members of almost every religion know that theirs is the one true religion. That's what the problem is but crusaders of religion never see it and remain faithful to whichever one true religion they happen to follow.
