i get amazed when people say that before you get married to someone or get involved intimately you have to know that someone so that your mind is set towards achieving what you have always wanted to , but again ,defferent peolple would ague when i tell them that i would get married to a person within 3 months of meeting her,they would say that 3 months is way too short.but how long is accepteptable?and is it the period that counts or the information that you have been looking for and are convinced that that person is a fit for you.

I do not think that there is a set amount of time. I think that what is important is that you allow yourself the time to really evaluate the person's character and personality and really get to know the person. This should include a period of observing the person's behavior in varied situations... don't just believe the answers that they give you. Anyone can say that they are an astronaut, but that doesn't make it true. You should watch and see that they live up to who they say they are. In fact, some people can spend months or years with a person and still not "know" the person. It really does have to be "quality" time.
Therefore, I don't think that one can put a certain time limit on a personal relationship. Some people are easy to get to know, and others are introverted or reclusive and take much more time to allow themselves or their personality to shine through... the good or the bad. Thus, each relationship has to be judged independently and cannot be restricted by limits or time frames.

To be honest you will never get to know the next person until you stay together. The length of time you date will not really bring out the next persons character. Some people are brilliant actors, but when you stay together every stage curtain comes down and what do you know...

i have no idea what to tell you i was with this 1 lady for just short of 3 years and just 1 day she told me it was over for some guy so it totally up to you how good do you know this person and good luck i hope it works out for the 2 of you
