it doesn't matter if it is a boyfriend, girlfriend, or even parents, proper respect when using the phone is essential. I saw a man who passed gas loudly into a phone and laughed. When he lost his job, there wasn't even a smile.

This is very disrespectful to you. I have known some people that did this and to me it's like they are being bothered with you calling. Here's an idea, if you don't want to answer the phone then let it ring. Also, it sounds to me like you have good manners and this goofball would not know manners if they hit him in the face. Take a step back and really look at what you have in common. I'll bet that it's not as much as you think. Whoever you decide to spend your life with, make sure you like them as a person because the fuzzy feelings of love will come and go.

caring about your boyfriend's phone courtesy with you might not be so important. trust me i understand it, i just had a phone courtesy discussion with my own. but i'm pretty sure i turned out to be the wrong one in this particular argument. does he love you and treat you well? because in the end, trying to change these little things is what i think leads to bigger than necessary problems. now if this IS something that REALLY bothers you and you can't put your finger on it, then do talk about it. but i don't recommend coming at the conversation in an accusing manner. just say something like why is it that you answer the phone like that when i call? chances are he thinks he's being cute. good luck.

No, that's not polite. It makes it seem like your disrupting him or something. He should at least be answering with "hi" or "hello", no matter who calls.

I usually know who's calling because I'll check the call display first, but I'll always say "hi" unless I use a more personal greeting.

Will i had the same thing happen to me. But It was the one that i had the message on my phone and it was very long. ( only to stop people from leaving a messages).. my boss called me and she didn't like the fact that I had such along message for her to hear...... I just stated to her I pay for my phone.. you don't. and when you do, I'll answer my phone your way.. But I pay for it. so it's my option on how i answer it... ------------"P.S I'm not Laughing at you or making funny of this by any means.. it's just samething my boss just talked to me about. I guess if you pay his phone bill. Then you can say something about. But up untill then,,, you have to bear it.....

Tell him how you feel about how he answers his phone too you. If he doesn't change i would have to say that he doesn't care and he is being disrespectful to you on purpose. So that way you will have a reason to break up with him as he has had his warning.

Usually when and if a guy answers the phone saying "Yeah" and knowing its you.....my guess is that he doesn't really look towards your phone call......its more like if he wants to say"Oh its you again"like he doesn't want to be bothered, its just my brothers outlook on that :/

My step son answers his cell phone with Yeah when I call and he also answers it the same with his friends and girlfriend. I think he thinks it's cool. I would be more concerned if he didn't answer at all.

Just depends on what type of person he is about the phone. My brother won't shut up in person, but barely talks on the phone. I say "bye" and you know what I get back? "yeah" followed by a click. Unless he's being an asshole any other way, just look over it.

I think no matter what that if they have caller id or not they should show respect in the person calling and i feel this person is so lacking in that. If they truely loved you they would have more respect for you than that.
