You may be feeling that but your parents want to see you happy but parents don't have a easy job and when the child gets older they have to let you fly on your own at some point so getting to that point sometimes makes you feel they are against you but in fact they want whats best for you

No. Parents always want their children to be happy it's just that a parent's idea of happiness may be different than the child's.

It's not that they don't want me to be happy; it's just that they want my idea of happiness to be in line with their own idea of happiness. Which translates to a husband, two kids, and house in the suburbs with a white picket fence. In other words, if anything other than this life is what it would take to make me happy (and I have have a growing feeling it is), they would be devastated.

I dont think any biological parent wants to see thier child unhappy, unless they are (the parents or child) the spawn of satan. They prolly just dont agree with you..have a complete lack of understanding..or are pms-ing.

I doubt it. Chances are that their idea of happiness and yours might be completely different. What you are into and what your dad was into at your age now were totally different things, and perhaps he cant relate to the stuff you are into....fine out if he likes to do the same things as you....ask them. Not us.
