have you ever told him how you feel... that he never asks for sex? Maybe you have sometimes complained about it and now he is doing his best to show you that he can be the one initiating it.
Otherwise, make sure he is not cheating on you. many cheaters try to hide this from their spouses by asking more and more for sex, so that their partners will not guess that they are getting it from elsewhere.
