The IQ only measures the potential to do well in school. Learning takes discipline. Your niece may benefit from supervision during her study time. She may also benefit from having someone practice arithmetic with her. Arithmetic is simply rote learning. The answer to 7 * 8 is always 56. There is no abstract reasoning involved.

Children with higher IQ's learn more quickly and with less effort. Your niece must put forth more effort to compensate. Simply having her study more time is not sufficient. Someone must drill with her.

I suggest trying different methods of teaching, that can improve IQ by a lot, but still isn't guaranteed. After that, I suggest trying to find out if she has a learning disorder, then tutoring if that doesn't work. I can't advise you on a specific doctor, especially in India though, so sorry there.

If nothing works for improving her IQ, it isn't the end of the world though, yes a higher IQ is better, but there is always something she can do.

Id suggest spell check for you first off. I would first see if she has a learning disorder. And if she does not try and get her a tutor

Relax, your niece has special gifts that do not appear to you or her at this time. Expose her to music, art, dance. I think you and your niece will be pleasantly surprised. There is nothing wrong with your niece.
