probably more kids now volunteer than ever before, but it has be an organsied occassion, or formal organisation.....they just dont offer to shovel the snow like they used to.....getting a normal kid to give a hand nowadays is a real pain....boys especially seldom offer to help....look at them...most of them are bone-racks who have never done a days work in thier lives while they are teenagers! Skinny and slackers.

It all started with the allowance. Kids get paid to "do chores". It is taught to kids at a very early age you get money when you do things you don't like. Flash forward a couple years and suggest volunteering and they think, "what, and not get paid???". There are a lot of major companies that have a "pay to volunteer" position to where they will hire and pay you to work at non profit centers in the name of their company. Not too bad of an idea there....
