Which decomposes faster, hair or nail?

both made of the same stuff, keratin.

My guess is that PommyTom is right and that hair would decompose faster because the ratio of surface area to mass is larger; this means that for a given amount, more of it is exposed to the elements in hair than in nails.

Less to decompose and greater surface area exposed to the elements.
