it seems that 99.99% of the crys for help here are from folks (especially females) who have bad/low self esteem!

what is your experience/understanding of self-esteem? who needs it anyway? where and how can one find self-esteem training, classes, material, etc.? does Google have anything on it? can you find self-esteem books, tapes, cds, videos, etc. in a library or bookstore? can you offer any websites re. self-esteem? what difference could self-esteem studies possibly make?
thanks

YOU ARE OVERGENERALIZING.....MOE GUYS ARE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP SO THEY JUST READ BUT DO NOT PARTICIPATE.....

EVERYONE HAS ISSUES WITH THEMSELVES, AND ALMOST EVERYONE HAS SOCIAL OR OTHER ANXIETY ISSUES TO SOME DEGREE OR OTHER.

SELF-ESTEEM COMES FROM WITHIN. 99% OF OUR OBSTACLES ARE THOSE WE PUT IN OUR OWN PATH. WE OFTEN RESORT TO FEELING OVERWHELMED OR VICTIMIZED SO WE DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THEM.

OBSTACLES ARE OPPORTUNITIES IN DISGUISE. THEY ARE CHALLENGES FOR US TO LEARN SOMETHING, OVERCOME SOMETHING, OR IMPROVE SOMETHING.

THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO LOOK FOR ANSWERS FROM OUTSIDE SOURCES..."SAVE ME" "HERE, FIX THIS FOR ME" "WHAT ANTIDEPRESSANT SHOULD I TAKE".

BUT THERE ARE THOSE WHO KNOW THAT 99% OF THE QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK, THEY ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER TO. THEY JUST WANT TO SEE WHAT OTHERS THINK. SOME JUST DON'T TRUST THEIR OWN JUDGEMENT, SOME JUST WANT SUPPORT. SOME JUST WANT ALTERNATIVE IDEAS OR ALTERNATIVE PERSPECTIVES.

SINCE SELF-ESTEEM COMES FROM WITHIN, WE NEED TO BUILD IT UP BY BETTERING OURSELVES. WE CAN GAIN MOTIVATION BY REPLACING "I CAN'T," WITH THE PHRASE "I AM NOT WILLING TO".

WE CAN BUILD OURSELVES UP BY MASTERING SKILLS AND TALENTS. IF WE DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE, WE CAN TRY NEW THINGS.

WE HAVE TO GIVE OURSELVES PERMISSION TO FAIL OR NOT BE IMMEDIATE EXPERTS. WE HAVE TO REALIZE THAT MISTAKES ARE MERELY WAYS OF FIGURING OUT WHAT DOESN'T WORK. THEY DO NOT DETRACT FROM OUR WORTH AS A PERSON.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS BUILD ESTEEM. FACT. MORE PEOPLE SHOULD TRY IT.

THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS TO BECOME GOOD AT. ORAGAMI, MARTIAL ATRS, SALSA DANCING, COOKING, CROSSWORDS, SPORTS, MAINTAINING A 4.0 GPA, ETC. THERE IS EVEN MORE ESTEEM TO BE HAD IN THOSE THINGS ONE CAN SHARE WITH OTHERS. TEACHING OTHERS AND SHARING SKILLS ALSO ENHANCES ESTEEM.

VOLUNTEER WORK, GENEROSITY, COMPASSION, TIME, AND ATTENTION TO THOSE IN NEED ARE EXCELLENT WAYS FOR PEOPLE TO REALIZE HOW LOVED, NEEDED, CARED ABOUT, VALUED, AND WORTHY THEY ARE, AND OTHER THINGS GOOD ABOUT THEMSELVES.

AND BY GIVING TO OTHERS WHAT THEY WANT FOR THEMSELVES, GOOD THINGS WILL COME BACK TO THEM. AND WHEN IT DOES, THEY WILL PAY IT FORWARD.
