As we grow in our relationship with the Lord, many things will take place, including being lead into temptation. As we mature, God will reveal more things to us, and make us more aware of things in our lives that need to change, or hidden sins that need dealt with. As we begin to work these particular sins out, we will be testing on these very things. If you think about it, It's easy to think you are healed of these sins if never tempted with them again. If someone is dealing with anger, and everything goes great for them day in and day out, is this truly an example of healing from this sin? If allowed to be tested and put into situations that would bring upon anger, AND then they keep themselves in control, that is showing healing. God will work on us that way, it's kind of like fine tuning us. If you really pay attention, you will notice that the very sins you most struggle with in your life , will be the very things you get tempted with most often. This is God speaking to you, and trying to fine tune you and make you stronger. He wants us to listen and break away from these sins, but we just have to listen and ask for His help and guidance. So, a long answer for a simple answer, YES, God may lead us into temptation, or at least allow us to be lead into temptation.

God would never lead us into temptation but we are prone to be lead into temptation by the devil.
The part you have outlined in the Lord's prayer continues to say,

...but deliver us from evil...

this means that, we are asking the Lord to protect us from temptation which is caused by the evil one and also for the Lord to protect from the evil one.

To avoid confusing urself take the prayer as a whole, do not choose sections in the prayer you can easily confuse urself.

Remember God is real and so is the devil.

No God wouldn't. But the Devil would lead us into the temptation and have us believe that God was causing it.
