I have cancer and would like to just live a fun life. I would like to work, as another post says, but just for fun. I love hanging out with my friends, but could I maybe get my GED and continue with classes I liked? it would be nice to fall back on. I heard it doesnt even really count for anything anymore, is that true?

well, i would like to simply work for fun, but mainly spendtime with friend. they go to high school, but i have a fear i would rather work than do all the schooling. college was not my idea of the step after GED.
I think as i write this, i might take the test, but continue regular schooling AND work part time. Sound good to anyone out there?

For mmost employers there is no differance between a GED and no diploma. My godmother had her ged thinking it would mean something. It didn't. She eventually had to go back to school to get her high school diploma.

On the other hand if you take college courses, that will mean something to future employers.I know three people who droopped out of highschool and went straight to college. All threee of them did very well in college.

Hi Heather.
I think the important thing for you to decide is how you want to make the most of your time, and that depends on how much time you think you have. In your situation, doing what makes you happiest is what is most important, and what you think you should do for your career is of secondary importance.

A GED is necessary if you want to enter college officially. If you just want to take courses and are not concerned about grades, many colleges allow you to audit courses for no credit. Anyone can do this with or without a GED. You attend the classes and pay the fees, but are not graded.

Whatever you decide, I wish you luck.

you may basically stick it out at school; in actual fact ask the academics for help, using fact something must be incorrect for every physique to have that GPA. you are going to be able to desire to get it on your ideas that it is not perfect anymore which you will get undesirable grades, no rely what the challenge. basically ask the college for information and that i'm particular that they are going to be chuffed to accomodate your desires. get your GED as a final motel, you are going to be able to desire to have a highschool degree

the fact that you know you always need something to fall back on is a good thing. Go ahead and get your GED.
