put butter on everything,be lazy n don't excercise, use plenty of oil when cooking, eat fatty foods loke fried chicken, drink only sodas,but still i would reccomend you take vitamins, i mean u don't want to mess ur insides up...

Dear Murthy, stay light. Higher weight would land you in trouble. Believe me if your weight is as per your medical practioner, do not go for any weight increase.
However if you are very lean and thin, do something to increase your apetite by exercising and eating fat rich food: Chicken,etc. Eat banana with milk in the breakfast.

If you want to build muscle - a high protein diet is the way for you. Eat about 4 portions of proteien and limit carb intake, if you have any carbs, eat the good ones (Low GI) If you eat junkfood, you are going to gain weight, but in a unhealthy way. Try to eat a balanced diet but just more of what you are eating now.

start having mid-time snacks
that is some snacks in evening or between meals apart from eating 3 times a day

Why do u need to increase your weight.
I recommend see your GP first, and don't fill up on junk and stop exercising - that is bad for your internal organs.

First & Foremost "BE HAPPY" & thanks God for what he has made you try to enjoy every moment of your life big or small & then eat high protein diet ,you must remember it is easy to gain weight but difficult to shed try a balanced approach inaccordance with your height & age.

the best way there is to gain weight is by eating a lot of proteins. proteins make and regenerate most of the tissue in your body it also makes you more in control of your metabolism. you find proteins in meat, chicken breast,beans,and of course peanuts.
