EVP is essentially getting ghost voices on tape. It isn't dangerous, I got an EVP on tape before and I'm fine.

I have many friends that have tried ghost hunting and have personally experienced EVP and as far as they know EVP is not dangerous because you are usually out of the area when you actually listen to it. But they think that the actual aquiring of the EVP is dangerous.

It is the phenomena that says that a spirit can use the static and ambient noise on a tape recording device to give it's voice a sound.
it is not regarded as dangerous in most Pagan belief systems
(unlike the oujia) however if you find it you may be in contact with a spirit that is in need of help, and to ignore this call could reflect in your Karma (if you believe in such things..)
however i must say that anytime that you are messing with the supernatural you put yourself at some degree of risk.

EVP is when you record background noise... like water running or a hair drier, and a spirit or an entity supposedly uses the sounds waves to speak.
It's benign... I've accidentally recorded it on my mic.

Hmmm... Did you just get done watching White Noise? Maybe not if you're asking what it is. It's a theory that those who have died send messages and speak on untuned radio bands, and not always friendly ones. I think it's a bunch of hooey myself. Though the quote in the beginning of the movie from Thomas Edison is real and does make one think...

It is the taping of possible voices of ghosts by using very sensitive microphones and sound enhancing equipment. Its harmless unless you let your imagnination run away with you.

Set up an old fashioned CRYSTAL SET..... find a location with no station broadcasting-- and listen to the voices---- VERY OLD STUFF!
