My hair is a straight as it gets, I'm wanting to get a more natural curl to it. My hair is long enough to wrap around my idex finger and have about a quarter of an inch left over. It's alot longer than most guy's hair. My question is is my hair long enough to get a perm, not a tight one, just a bit of a wave.

don't get a perm... it will freakin look like justin timberlake (or even worse justin guarini) when he started n'sync. DONT DO IT
ACCEPT YOUR HAIR FOR WHAT IT IS...
either that..
or accept your sexuality.

Is better if you let it grow like two inches or one inch and a half more. If you do a perm now is gonna be too tight and is gonna look like an afro. A little bit longer is gonna give you a more natural and loose wave.
I recommend you to put yourself in good and experienced hands, because this is a chemical process. Don't let the perm lotion to stay on your hair for more than 20 or 25 minutes. More than that can burn and damage your hair. Good look.

your hair is long enough, but please go to a really good stylist because perms on guys can look like a poodle if you aren't careful. Request a consultation first so you can have a clear understanding between you and the stylist of what you want to accomplish.

yes it is. pretty much if it is long enough to wrap a pencil into it, you can get a perm.
