The best is actually chewing mint leaves, not only they r good for digestion, the are healthy for intestines and skin.

Your question refers to fruits so from what i know, Papaya and star fruit are great for digestion.

A new scientific survey suggests that fruits must be consumed before any meal not after.

Y is that? because after meals when you eat fruits, acidity forms slowly and will affect when you reach the age of 35+.

This isn't a fruit, but ginger is great for digestion. If you drink tea, drink some ginger tea - it's powerful. You can pick this up at any health food store, like Wild Oats or World Market. They also carry real ginger ale.

People use pineapple because it has bromelain in it.

The pineapple (Ananas comosus) is a tropical tree and fruit (berry), native to Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, and Paraguay. The tree is a bromeliad (family Bromeliaceae), a short, herbaceous perennial with 30 or more trough-shaped and pointed leaves 30–100 cm long, surrounding a thick stem.

Dried Figs. They are amazing- really get things moving if you catch my drift!

PS. In ref to Q below. Papaya is safe to eat in 'normal' amounts at any time, certainly during menstruation when all you are doing is getting rid of boold your body has already put aside for that purpose! During preganancy all food should be eaten in balance and well cooked/cleaned- only allergy foods should be eaten with care guidelines from your midwife (based on your family history). Sorry, I just have a 'thing' about female-related myths.

You know the old saying "an apple a day" well it's true.

Papaya's are also excellent, but depending on where you live, they can be hard to find. (you can get papay enzyme tablets in health food stores too)

Apples are pretty much everywhere, all year round.
