The desity of the matter is correct. Usually poop with greater fiber floats and those without it sinks. So you always want floaters.

Stool can be floaters or sinkers for several reasons. It depends on the composition of the stool, the presence or absence of fiber, absorption/malabsorption of molecules, etc. I talked to dieticians who said that during their Phd research, they studied the composition of stool to understand how the body metabolized food and eliminated waste. This is a complex area of study.

The same reason anything sinks or floats - if its density is greater than water, it sinks. If less than water, it floats.

I heard that if your diet consist of mostly vegetables, the poop floats (more fibers). If your diet consist of mostly meat, then it sinks.

I've heard it has to do with your diet, and if you're eating healthy, your poop should float.....er....or maybe it is supposed to sink if you are eating healthy.

It's one or the other.
