There is a prophetical statement told by prophet Muhammed and narrated by Abu Dawood (3001) that after winning his first battle against Pagans, prophet Muhammed asked his Jews neighbours to embrace Islam and threatened them that if they do not do so, they would be defeated the same way the Pganas were defeated during their first battle with prophet Muhammed.
Why did prophet Muhammed do that? I thought his mission was to deliver god's message and let people decide by themselves whether to embrace Islam or not. So, why did he threaten those Jews neighbours to embrace Islam?
(by the way, two years later, prophet Muhammed kicked them out and took over their lands and properties)

The same reason God told his chosen people to kill everyone who didn't believe in him in the Old Testament?

judith r, he was not asking people to worship him. By the way, at that time, those people were no longer following the TRUE teachings of Abraham and Moses and Jesus.
Muhammad told them to embrace Islam because they were planning to wage a war. So, embracing Islam would save them from a certain doom. They were also breaching the principles of the Madinah Constitution. They were not rightful citizens anymore.

Jews plotted against him....took covenants and broke them...lied and cheated them...Oh kind of what they do now
He could have annihilated all of them but most were forgiven. That is why we still have Jews today. The ones that were fighting against him were defeated.
"There is no compulsion in religion the truth stands clear from falsehood. And whoever believes in God has grasped something that could never break"

It was not just the Jews. He also forced Islam on the surrounding tribes. Either they could reject him and die, or they could join him and also join his band as they continued to rape, pillage and plunder. Many chose the second course, which is why Islam grew. It grows today by the same means.

Research the word Allah, research Islam symbolism (especially their flags), then research ancient pagan symbolism, and also it wouldn't hurt to study catholicism symbols either.
Research where Mohamud grew up, and research the changes to the Quran since its first 'edition' so to speak.
:edit: girlwonder, research every single person God told to his people to kill, most of these nations sacrificed little children to their pagan gods much like the Jews sacrificed animals.

you stupid moron, i would recommed u to do your stupid research before asking your stupid questions. prophet Muhammad (saw) never forced anyone to join islam and he never kicked anyone out of their rightful properties. why dont you ever think about what the jews did.
ps. dont put sooo much pressure on your small mustard seed sized mind. it wont be able to stand it.

The same reason every religion tries to spread its meme to others, religions that don't spread, die out. Its natural selection. Just look at the shakers.

muhammed was a lying thief. he was trying to trick the Jews into voluntarily giving up all their possessions so he could have them without a fight.
turns out he had to fight for them. just goes to show, how can you tell when a muslim is lying?
