I believe that humans have different interpretations of how a God is like, that's why there're so many religions and gods out there. Some culture believes their gods completely different from other cultures. This could be explain by the environments surround them. For example, the East Indians believed the God of Fire, God of water, God of Sexual beauties.. stuffs like that. We only know that there're one creator out there, who knows how he looks like? People tend to worship and make up different images and Gods of their own :)

First of all ask one must ask oneself if there is any GOD.What is God ?people refer to God as he/she when speaking, but in reality he/she must be neither. Why? it can be that nature itself is what we call God.Why should God be someone and not someTHING?like Nature.According to Quran & Bible we cant see the what God looks like becuse he is the ultimate. But why cant he be just be formless. Why cant the figure what Moses and other prophets saw just be a form that 'GOD'had taken.Or indeed a form Nature has taken. The word God is formed by a human being. But the truth is that religions make it sound like something that came to human knowledge from heaven. If indeed there is only 1 God as many people think than why is he allowing all these religions.Today all religions in the world aremostly started by a person. And the fact is that only TWO religions are not found to have a founder - Jewish and Hindu. All other religions were started by a person. But it wouldnt be wrong to say that christianity Jewish and muslim all think as God as 1.But what about Hindu originating in India has many Gods with the 3 main being - Brahma(creator),Visnu(protector)and Siva(destroyer)and many other Gods. There arealso other religions like Jainism cnoficuism etc but all of theses are started ny a man (again) who believed in 1 God but followers converted that into a religion.Thei religion. So the only outcome is that there is no God or all Gods of all religionsare there and any new religion coming up will actually be worshipping an existing God but will be turned into a new religion by the followers. If u think this is insane and there is still only 1 God then I plead him to enlighten me and u of why people are so ignorant under his control or are they out of his control even if he created them?

That's the thing. We DON'T know.
Or at least, the word we use regarding the existence of God, or his non existence, is not KNOWING. It's HAVING FAITH IN.
If we KNEW there was a God out there, it'd be a scientific fact, not an article of Faith. And if it was confirmed that God /was/ out there, there'd be no need for priests of any kind - just scientists and more scientists, probing and dissecting God to figure out his DNA sequence, maybe, or analysing the Fraunhofer lines of the measurable Divine radiance coming off him.
Point is, God might exist, or he might not. There's no way of proving it either way: you have to have faith that he does.
And that means people who believe in God have no right to try and impose their beliefs on anyone; nor could they even try, because each person has to come to their beliefs, their faith as it were, on their own.

First you would have to explain which "people" are the focus of your question; I think that Hinduism is really the only major religion where "people believe in so many gods" and even then they really don't (it's a common misconception).
Then you would need to define who "we" are - "we know there is only one God."
Then you would need to define what you mean by "know" - religion is based on faith, so "knowing" something is often simply "believing" it to be so. In this case, knowledge is generally not defined the same as it would be in a field like science.
Jews, Christians, and Muslims all believe in the "one true God." Yet even within these religions the concept and nature of God is defined in many different ways. So who is this "one God", really - and according to whose description and understanding?

NO DOUBT
There is no god but God___ the One Alone Lord. Who is the All-Alone Creator of the universe and everything therein. God is Supernatural and Superphysical and Beyond of human intellect. God is not a creature, nor a thing, nor a person nor a sign and nothing is alike God. Nor anything can ever become alike God as God is the Absolute Holy.
Ruins of the declined civilizations and Pharaoh’s Empire___ do tell us that denial and disobedience of the One Alone God___ is nothing else but an open invitation to the curse and destruction. Whereas the belief in One Alone God is the positive correction of one’s affairs of the world and the Hereafter. Victory of Moses over Pharaoh is enough as a proof of the existence of One Alone God and God’s unshared power.
the word GOD means:-
1.G___ FOR GENERATOR OF THE UNIVERSE
2.O___ FOR ORGANIZER OF THE UNIVERSE AND COSMOS.
3.D___ FOR DESTROYER OF EVERYTHING.
All Holy Books tell us, that everything will be perished and nothing will be left but The One, Alone God to resurrect all whom God created for the judgement. All the messengers sent to mankind by the Great, AlMighty God__ died but the true religion of the God lives. So, to be the one nation of God:
BELIEVE IN ONE ALONE GOD___ PERFORM GOOD DEEDS___ BELIEVE IN THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT AFTER RESURRECTION.
All those who believe in gods, rather than believing in One, Alone God are non-believers. Since they forgot the First Commandment and neglected the Great Commandment of the Holy Scripture___ Torah, they cannot be considered believers on the Day of Judgement. They will be counted as the people of hell___ as enemies of God.

God is what our hearts believe is true. God is in our hearts and minds, and God is someone we talk to in our loneliness and times of need.
The way people perceive God to be is through faith, not physical being. No one knows God exists, but everyone believes. That is what makes God.
Why?
Because in life we always need to believe in something better then what we have, and by how we live. God is that better thing, and without rules all that remains is anarchy reigns supreme.
God is of all names, and all cultures, but is only one, the one that I believe, the Christians, Jews, Muslims, and the untold other sects that exist. God is within us, our spirit and our love and faith.
However God is not one, God totals the total population of the planet, as we all in our hearts see God in our own special way.

God knows that we're all different, and at different levels of spirituality, so God manifests himself into different forms so that we can all worship him. We can believe in so many Gods because they are all expressions of the one God.
Sorry if someone has already said this, but I didn't look.

I would have to ask how can anyone look at the multitude of religious beliefs that have been in use for longer than recorded history and say that their GOD is the only ont that is true.
I believe in many and i worship a few. (hundred) but i am secure in my belief that my gods exist and work for me. i respect your god and the teachings of his son and prophets but i choose not to worship him for a few reasons that have no revelance to this question.
why is it that the monotheists always seem so adament that their GOD is the only one.
possibly it is the only god for YOU. but that does not make it true for me or someone overseas.

You don't KNOW there is one God if any at all. All anyone knows about a God is pure hearsay.
A tribe in Africa worships aeroplanes, they have never seen an airport or a plane on the ground, but their religion is just as real them as anyone else's religion.
ALL religion is based fear and superstition. A miracle ceases to be a miracle once you understand what caused it.

Because not everyone believes in one God. And there is no way to dispute or prove a one God, Multi-god, or Non-god universe. It comes down to belief.
