The intellectual atheist, the nemesis of the religious, has chosen their beliefs by questioning what they are told about religion when a child - they know fact from dogma. Whereas the immature atheist merely rebels against relgion like an infant poking it's tongue out at their parents. I tend to think there's more of the latter here.

Yes, I agree with your statement because this is being proven daily on this religious/spiritual forum!.....to answer your question from the proof of questions & answers that many atheists give on this site, I would say there are more "immature atheists" than "mature" on this site daily!.......

I have seen both on here. Some of the number 2s have to realize that they are not helping their cause any. Just because you call somebody stupid doesn't make you smart or smarter then them.I think if you want to argue your point you need to be informed about the subject. Yes, I looked into religion, sometimes an idea strikes me and I will do research on it. Some of the stuff I learned was like crazy and I can understand were some of my fellow disbelievers are coming from.

Yes, you're right. Immature atheists and immature Christians alike. Thank God there are some real intellectuals too, or it would be a complete waste of time to be on this site!

I understand where you are coming from and though I believe you are right I still have to disagree - if it looks like a duck and it sounds like a duck and it acts like a duck then it more than likely is a duck - this pretty much sums up both your two types of atheists as well as the several hundred or so religions - at the end of the argument blind belief remains blind belief however you cook it up and serve it (no insult towards ducks intended)

I'm the intellectual kind. And I choose my beliefs almost 25 years ago. Funny thing, when I was a child my dad would relate to bishops and cardinals for different reasons, I think that by observing them and listening to their chats I made my mind.

I would say you are right. Online blogs and the like tend to have a minority of thinking people that aren't turned angry or stupid by a few comments or two.

The funny thing about atheists - they claim not to believe in God, or the existence of God or a Higher Power, but they sure do use words like 'God', 'Jesus Christ', 'Christ', alot when cussing. Rather contradictory don't you think?

That's a fair observation. I'd have to see the actual numbers or look through all of the posts before I could agree or disagree either way.....then again, that's what agnostics do.
