Well what would you rather carry along with the pencil a sharpener or lead? I say use the regular pencil cuz most classrooms have sharpeners incase the lead breaks but not alot of people are willing to give away lead. Plus lead is more expensive!

If you able to post this question to Y! then I think you can very well handle the mechanical pencil. Otherwise if you had taken your mama's help in posting this question then you better go for a wooden one.

Bic mechanical pencils are the way to go. No need to sharpen and they're #2 lead, perfect for scantron tests.

if u write hard, go #2 wooden. if you don't press hard, go mechanical, possibly with a grip--> better for writing a lot like in essays. if mechanical, try not to get the handle thing on the eraser part--makes it easier to erase
