I've used Registry Mechanic for a couple of years and have been very happy with the results. One precaution I take, however, is that I've set it up to create a system restore point before it makes any repairs.

If your using spysubtrack then get a new registry cleaning. In fact I find most registry cleaners don't work right. Sometimes sentient lines of code show up as bad when they are not. The best thing to do if scan for virus and check what values those virus add or change and manually edit them and fix them after getting rid of the virus or follow the steps provide with your anti virus program like Norton for example.
